One year in!
So!
We’re nearly at the end of our first year gigging as the Bandits and it’s been awesome. We’re proud to say we’ve played weddings, festivals and street sets across Devon and Somerset and had the most amazing time doing it.
In April we played two nights at Exeter’s Firehouse. These were our first live shows where we were still finding our feet and testing the waters. We had no idea it was going to go off like it did! This cosy, intimate music venue turned into a raucous, sweaty, samba-y rave! We filmed our first promo video there and you can see from the shots of the crowd how much fun we had.

Later in the year we played the awesome Altitude Festival. We were given the ultimate privilege of playing the final band set on the main stage on Saturday night. Having made our way through the crowd and over the barriers at the front we squeezed onto the stage and started blasting out Carnival de Paris - everyone went nuts, it was amazing.

In August we played at Tiverton’s Party 200 - this was an earlier set for us as we opened the festival and played to people as they were coming in. We then got to enjoy watching Mad Dog McRea, The Wurzels and Scouting For Girls. For us this was a great day playing, sitting out in the sun and watching some great music.

And finally, to close the year we’ve been lucky enough to book street sets in Exeter, Taunton, Newton Abbot and Totnes. It’s a bit chilly outside but nothing says ‘Christmas’ to us like wrapping up and playing to people as they do their Christmas shopping, drink mulled wine and spend time together.

All in all it’s been a great year for the Bandits. We’ve got so much to look forward to next year with festival bookings already getting sorted, a couple of weddings and events lined up and a few fun surprises in store too!
Thanks to everyone who has danced, sung and smiled with us - we’ve had a blast.
